Floral Cluster Ring with Smokey Quartz & Citrine

A classically built ring in the 1920’s cocktail style, this ring uses an unconventional and mysteriously beautiful combination of stones. While most cocktail style rings, particularly those with a floral motif like this one will use brightly colored stones, our jeweler decided to go in a more unconventional direction. Smoky quartz with its deep, mysterious earth tones is framed by pale yellow citrines. This makes for a wonderful conversation starter and a really special piece. 

Citrine (or yellow quartz if you’re boring) is an ancient gemstone. Said to ward off evil thoughts, encourage new beginning and spark imagination along with stimulating good circulation and digestion. Citrine is the November birthstone with its warm golden-yellow coloring said to be a gift from the sun.

Smoky quartz is perhaps one the worlds more mysterious gems. While its mysterious black-brown hue has been prized in jewelry for centuries it’s only recently been discovered that this coloration is the result of thousands of years exposed to radiation inside the earth's crust. While thankfully the stones don’t have any radioactivity to worry about they are prized as a protective stone in both the physical, emotional and spiritual realm.
